Slumber My Darling is a beautiful old lullaby by American composer Stephen Foster. Download lead sheets in three keys, or free guitar acoustic tablature for this song, available in two keys.
For this song, perhaps nothing can compare with the combined talents of Alison Kraus and Yo Yo Ma in Heartland: An Appalachian Anthology, heard in the beautifully crafted video below:
I don't have a piano/vocal arrangement ready for the website yet, but check back soon if you want more than a lead sheet and guitar tabs. Here is the lead sheet for this lovely song by Stephen Foster:

Young girls do well with this song.
This makes a lovely recital song for a young girl with a soft, high voice -- most young girl vocal students! One of my younger voice students once sang this song while cradling a doll in her arms... it was adorable.
Singers with a limited range also do well with this lullaby.
And if your student is an older beginner or even an adult who is still having difficulty getting her voice up high, the key of Bb may work very well for her.
The limited range of the melody - one octave - will encourage your voice student to focus on other technical aspects of the song, such as elongating the breath and articulating the ends of words.
Move the song higher for singers with a weak low range.
And contrariwise, if getting down low with any volume is the issue for your vocalist - and this is usually is a difficulty with young girls with soft voices - then move the song to the key of D. Just one step up from Middle C makes a very big difference.

Guitar accompaniment suits this song.
I love to play this song on the guitar in the key of D with fingerpicking -- it sounds peaceful and dreamy, just right for a lullaby. And having the guitar as the accompaniment instead of the heavier sound of the piano will be a better match for younger, lighter-voiced singers.

This is the perfect easy start for little pianists.
And when they start reading white-key notes on the staff, this is a fun easy resource to say each week, "Choose a new black-key song at home this week and figure it out to show me next lesson!" They will be spending more time at the piano.
A perfect read aloud storybook
for little boys or girls.
The Adventures of Tonsta highlight the travels of a very young boy with a good heart, who goes about helping folk in trouble.
With a red cap on his head and a sack of tools slung over his shoulder, Tonsta seems to meet people in distress wherever he goes.
Lots of trolls in this book - including one who gives him a Christmas gift!
Liz:
Hello - I just want to say THANK YOU so much for the duet version of Oh Holy night (in Bb too!), which is great, as I have two students at school that are going to sing this in a concert in 3 weeks.
With not much time and no budget, it is so nice to find an arrangement! Thank you.
Carrie,Voice and Piano Teacher:
This site is FABULOUS.
For all the reasons you explain on the site itself--this is exactly what piano teachers need! (I still need to go look at the vocal music). Wow. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Hi, I'm Dana! (Say that like "Anna".) I'm the owner of Music-for-Music-Teachers.com, and a newer site, SingTheBibleStory.com.
Like some of you, I've been playing the piano since early childhood, and have added a few other instruments along the way, plus an interest in arranging and composing music.
You can find out more about me and the reason for this website at my About Me page.
