"Rose" Titanic Music

"Rose" Titanic song is perhaps the most beautiful of all the music from the Titanic movie. Listen to the piano arrangement of "Rose" from Titanic in the video below:

This elegant piano arrangement captures the passionate beauty and rebellion of the young Rose, and the star-crossed love she and Jack share so briefly.

Rose Titanic piano music

Right hand ornaments

In line one, and throughout the piece, the melody has frequent ornaments which lend a bit of an Irish or Gaelic mood. Beautiful, very fun, and not too hard to perfect, these small trills give the music a delicate feeling.

Big but easy left hand chords

Notice how easily the left hand broken chords fit into the hand.  If your student (or you) has an understanding of chords, then this arrangement will be a piece of cake!

Titanic song Rose

Giving the music a bit of restlessness is the shifting meter.  First we have 4 beats, then 6, then back to 4 again.  This happens throughout the piece - genius, I think!

A little bit of octave work in the right hand, but not TOO MUCH, is a good stretch for your intermediate students.

Finally, at the top of the last page, "Rose" shifts from Dm to a totally unexpected key, F# minor.  The melody imitates the swooping "Near, far, wherever you are," fragment of the main Titanic theme, then dies away...

This beautiful music is copyrighted, so my arrangement must be FOR SALE!  I am sorry I cannot share it for free.

It's worth buying and learning, though.  Playing carefully through this music masterpiece will carry both you and your listening audience far, far away.
