Hi Dana!
I am teaching piano to a student who only can use her left hand, so I am working to arrange songs for the left hand. I was wondering is there a specific program that you use to write beginner songs, such as just the black keys or notes with letter names?

Yes, I've been using Finale software for years now. I've updated it a couple of times, and it's probably about time to update again, but I'm pretty pleased with it.
One of the reasons I updated last time was specifically because of the new ability to place note names inside of note heads - that feature is called "AlphaNotes".
