And below is the same Middle C arrangement.  It is like the version above, but without the chord symbols and fingering, and with the original dotted rhythms.

"Just As I Am, Without One Plea" is not just an "oldie goldie" hymn, it is actually quite a pretty tune, with words that clearly reflect biblical truths.  Add some broken chords in the left hand, and you have an irresistable song!

If you have students who attend church or Sunday School, this song might be a good pick for them.

Just As I Am, Without One Plea piano music for intermediate students.

Despite the simplicity of the melody, I think this piece should be called "intermediate" level.

Why?  Because of the constantly-changing chords in the left hand.

Chord inversions... much harder

These aren't plain chords; they are chord inversions of all kinds.  Very good practice for your young students, but I DON'T think they will catch on to this arrangement quickly unless they really love this song and push hard on it.  Prepare them with this simple sheet of Basic Chords and Scales.

Listen to this arrangement

Here's how this easy piano arrangement sounds... this is just an audio made on  my iPhone!

Good fingering really helps

There's also quite a bit going on with the right hand fingering.

To make this melody smooth, there is a lot of finger replacement that must happen.

Want a "bigger" arrangement?

If you are interested in a much fuller-sounding PIANO version for this song, please check out the arrangements I offer on my other website, SingTheBibleStory.com.  That arrangement is in the key of C, the key of Db (my favorite), and the key of D, which is easiest for guitar players.

Here is the hymn for guitar, in the keys of C and also D.  Finger-picking this song would be beautiful on the guitar:
